Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

The package failed to install and upon reboot a text-based login screen appeared and it was rapidly blinking. After a forced shutdown, I noticed an addition to the GRUB boot menu that successfully booted Ubuntu. I haven't checked to see if the extra entry still exists yet. I'm a new user so if this is normal (the extra entry)(or if I can help fix it) please let me know through my <email address hidden>.

I'm new to Ubuntu and I was wondering what happens when a bug gets reported. Is there a patch released to fix this? Please let me know, so I could help fix it.

Why are you asking me? I don't know what to do. That is why I reported it and nobody has told me what to do. They just give me some mumbo jumbo crap.

Sorry, I'm a little new to the bug reporting system (I had to start somewhere). Is there any place that I could find out more about the bug reporting system? (so I don't have to bug people like you anymore)
