Bug Description

Jonathan Hooper reports:

"""
It looks like a form of structured text formatting is in place for email alerts. For instance, if I send the following as a blog comment via email: http://foo.com/a_really_long_url_link The email alert appears as:

http://foo.com/areallylongurllink

I suppose we should do away with any formatting of this type as it is a bit of "hidden" magic that we could do without.

I bought an Apple laptop a week ago from this site. Now, I have been received. This product quality is very good.
and price also very cheap. They also sell mobile phones, television sets, motorcycles and so on.
it is the best place for us to buy , or send gift to friends .
If you feel interested , just do it .don't miss this chance.

Hmm, this one is kind of tricky. We can't just turn off the formatter, because we do need to convert plain text emails into html blog entries. If we did nothing, there would be no formatting--not even paragraph or line breaks. But clearly the formatter is misbehaving in this case. I will investigate the options here and see whether there might be an upgrade to markdown2 which addresses this problem.
