Bug Description

whenever I power up my notebook, either on network or battery power, once the fan switches on, it never stops.

tried on Ubuntu 9.10 and Linux Mint 8 (which are basically the same on this side, I know) with latest packages.

laptop-tools are installed, but this happened even when they weren't.

if there is any other details I can provide, please tell me how to do it (where to find ACPI related logs, for example)

Jeremy: does this tag mean that I have not specified the kernel version I use?

it is written in the attachment: it is
2.6.31-14-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 14:05:01 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux

looks like this has been solved somehow with an update, as I'm not experiencing this anymore
