Thank you for opening this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. I am setting this package Confirmed/Low: this is a -- at the moment -- known issue, see http://<email address hidden>/msg15612.html for details.

Apart from the messages in the log (which should happen every time libvirtd is started), there are no issues.

Changed in libvirt (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Confirmed

In my install of lucid x86_64 /dev/cgroup doesn't exist by default. I followed this reference::

    http://<email address hidden>/msg15612.html

And did::

   mkdir /dev/cgroup

   # then tested with this
   mount -t cgroup none /dev/cgroup -o cpu,memory,devices

before entering things in my /etc/fstab

For anonymous users this link doesn't display because something thinks it is an email address.

Remove spaces from this url to get it right. (hope this works)

Is anyone still seeing this problem? (I would think so, but it's possible that it was quietly fixed upstream)

Is there any reason not to add a Suggests: cgroup-lite | cgroup-bin ?

This bug was fixed in the package libvirt - 0.9.7-2ubuntu4

---------------
libvirt (0.9.7-2ubuntu4) precise; urgency=low

  * debian/apparmor/usr.sbin.libvirtd:
    - allow access to /etc/libvirt/hooks/** (LP: #891472)
    - #include <local/usr.sbin.libvirtd> for site-local customizations
  * debian/control: Suggest cgroup-lite | cgroup-bin (LP: #544146)
  * debian/patches/ubuntu/apparmor-allow-tunnelled-migration-2.patch:
    Warn but don't error out when we can't find a pathname for a file.
    This is needed to support tunnelled migration. (LP: #869553)
