Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Software-center (and synaptic package manager) get the screenshots from http://screenshots.debian.net/
Can you please give examples of which applications are missing the screenshot? It would be helpful if you could also check if that package has a screenshot uploaded to http://screenshots.debian.net/packages.

Hi guigui. Thank you for attaching the screencast, that was very helpful! The first package you selected in the screencast is the vinagre package. This package does not have a screenshot at the screenshots.debian site mentioned above.

The second package (wormux) you selected does have a screenshot uploaded to http://screenshots.debian.net/packages. Software-center displays an image for that package on my system & I am unable to reproduce the issue using that example.

I am able to confirm that software-center does not display an image for the third example package (firefox) in your screencast, whereas synaptic-package-manager does display an image. See attached "software-center-firefox.png" that shows an image for the "firefox" package being displayed in synaptic package manager, but not in software-center.

Can you please to reproduce this issue with the "womux" screenshot not appearing using a live cd environment to ensure that this is not an issue with your installation? Thanks in advance!

Hi Guigui. Thanks for this bug report. What I notice in your video is that the spinner is still spinning. This would imply that software-center does not yet know whether a screenshot is available or not. My first guess would be that either your internet connection was quite slow at the time, or (more likely) that the screenshots server was temporarily unavailable. This is just a guess, so it might be wrong, but would you mind testing this again to see if it is reproducible, or whether it was a temporary issue. Thanks.

(There is a separate bug (LP: #537418) open about giving the impression that a screenshot is available when it isn't, but this is a separate issue than what is occurring in your video.)
