9.10 Install

I have attempted to upgrade from 9.4 using the download upgrade and install method, each time it bombs out and freezes just before finishing the install.
So I ordered a 9.10 CD to do the install, the install completes and when I boot it just freezes with a blanks screen. One attempt I got it installed and when to check for updates, clicked on update and it froze..

I am on an IBM Thinkpad R51 ... works fine on all other Ubuntu releases

Thanks for you help
Ken

Hello

I am new to Ubuntu and bug reporting, where do I look for answers to my
