I'm a bit confused, is this a bug in mythtv-backend preventing the machine from shutting off?

If you stop mythtv-backend (sudo stop mythtv-backend) do you still have problems?

@ruud, Since this bug has been reported - there have been a number of mythtv* package updates. Would you be able to try and reproduce this bug with a system that has all current updates?
