I do not know if it is reproducible....I just want to watch films on my computer...how do I fix this is really the question and how do I get this application/x-gzipcoder that I need to fix my dvd player so I can watch dvd's pretty simple...what will it take to do that?  Thanks?

Rebecca you could always install VLC which I believe have better support for DVDs. anyways please follow these instructions to install the required codecs to play DVDs in ubuntu. we are sorry for the inconvenience
