Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

I have just installed Ubunto /kubuntu and I am having problems with the display drivers. I am not sure if it is the monitor Gateway or the NVidea graphics card.

The graphcis driver most likely isn't detecting your monitor properly.

Thanks for including the attached files. Could you also include your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (or Xorg.0.log.old) from after reproducing the issue?

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` too.

Any ideas on how to correct this outside of changing monitors?

I confirmed the problem was the Gateway monitor. I plugged in an NEC monitor and I can now change the screen resolution. One other problem is still present though. If the system is restarted for any reason the screen resolution defaults back to low res and I have to go into screen properties and set it up again. Am I missing something here. Once the settings have been made and closed out they should be saved. At least that is how I think t should work.
