So are you saying that I should try to activate "gdb" (gnome debugger?) and
try to capture that output to forward to you? I should be able to do that,
just confirm that I am interpreting your message correctly.

This issue had to do with trying to import about 30-40 dv clips of anywhere
from 2-10 minutes in length.

Plan or attend a Linux Installfest near you soon.

Ubuntu, fedora, OpenSUSE... take your pick... Soon there will be Google
OS,,, maybe even Google Android for the desktop.

OpenOffice for your document management...

Yes, for us it's better and the best.
And could you tell us the total size of all your files ? Just for know.
Thanks

Olivier, I hope that your mother is doing well. I have tried to do the
debug run of OpenShot that you requested.
Strangely, it did not crash with importing those same 50+ files when running
under the debugger (fedora 11).

I captured all of the gdb output in a file and will attach that as well as a
file listing the sizes of the video files.

BTW, please tell your friends on the OpenShot project that I am almost
tearful with joy. I bought my notebook computer 3 years ago with Windows
Vista with the hope of being able to do home video editing. Windows Vista
destroyed that dream temporarily, but it drove me into learning Linux and
now your wonderful OpenShot project. I have uploaded my *first* home video
to YouTube to share with my family thanks to OpenShot. ;-)

Let me know what else I can to help out this project.

God Bless you guys!

Hi Brad

Thanks for my mother, it's better, for the moment. This day i was a little disappointed and irritated. We have done afraid. Hum, i'm thinking that we have not all seen.

About my friends don't worry they look this comment (like all the others bugs), same if they don't have put some comments.

For the rest , i'm happy than Openshot can help you to stay in Linux and do your family video.

If i have an advice to give you like you have some problems with the importation of a lot of dv files, is to launch each time gdb when you run Openshot. And if you have a problem, put the result here.
Thanks for all.
Olivier
