Bug Description

Using the scanner bed or the feeder of my Canon MF4270, all images are presented rotated 90 degrees right. Saved images are kept rotated. I had to manually rotate each page 90 degrees left in order for them to be saved with the correct orientation.

I've seen this on a HP 6310. Once I changed the orientation and came back into the program, it seemed to retain the last orientation.

I just tried Jim Rorie's suggestion, but it does NOT change anything. Image are still rotated 90 degrees right by default

Alex, could you attach screenshots of what you're describing to make it clear what is occurring?
i.e.
1. Startup of simple-scan
2. After pressing scan
3. After rotating page correctly
4. After pressing scan again

Changed in simple-scan:
status: New → Incomplete

I am attaching two pdfs.
1) The first one called "Default rotated 90.pdf" is what I get using the default settings.
2) The second one, called "How it shoud be.pdf" is what i expect the program to do.

ok, after doing the:

1. Startup of simple-scan
2. After pressing scan
3. rotating page correctly
4. pressing scan again
5. Close simple-scan
6. restart simple-scan

now it retains the correct orientation on subsequent scans.

Although the problem is now solved and the orientation is now correct, I still think of this as a bug because, the very FIRST time simple-scan is used, the default orientation is wrong.
This being an "easy to use" program, the user should not have to resort to the steps above to get the correct orientation.

Note that if step #4 (4. pressing scan again) above is omitted the correct orientation is not retained after the re-start of simple-scan.

Confirmed:
To reproduce:
1. Open Simple Scan
2. Rotate the default page
3. Close Simple Scan
4. Open Simple Scan

Observed:
Page is at the same rotation as in step 1
Expected:
Page should be rotated as in step 2

Fixed for 0.9.6
