 gconftool -g /apps/compiz/plugins/decoration/allscreens/options/command

 gconftool -g /apps/compiz/plugins/decoration/allscreens/options/decoration_match

I would also like to know which compiz plugins that you have enabled.

For any other users experiencing this problem, are you also using Ubuntu Lucid?

I am running Lucid Alpha 2 with daily updates.

My compiz version is also 0.8.4-0ubuntu13.

As far as compiz plugins go, I have a stock Lucid install with the Preferences -> Appearance -> Visual Effects setting at "Normal"

I think this is due to a bug I introduced in libgtk2.0-0 2.19.5-1ubuntu5. We'll get a -ubuntu6 out and fix this ASAP.

Okay, now I'm less sure that this is my fault. I find it very strange that I start up awn and the menus have decorations on them, but then I start Chromium and suddenly awn does not have decorations on it.

Cody,

Do I understand you correctly that you only see the issue with awn dialogs when Chromium is _not_ open?

Cody Russell (bratsche) wrote :

No, it seems inconsistent. When I first started awn after restarting my system I saw the compiz decorations around the popup menu on it, and then when I started Chromium and popped up the window they were gone.

Later I tried that again and they were still there.

Right now I just popped up the menu and the decorations are not there. So it's kind of weird and inconsistent.

Oh weird..

I just checked again. I have 5 gnome-terminals open, and I have 2 Chromium windows open. When I click on gnome-terminal in awn I get a popup menu with no compiz decorations on it (as expected), but when I click on Chromium in awn I get a popup with decorations on it.

I get the same behavior with Firefox as I do with Chromium, fwiw.

I tried out some of Cody's scenarios on my installation and I was unable to reproduce the intermittent window decorations. For me the window decorations are consistently displayed.

To add some additional detail, I see the window decorations on the weather, calendar, cpu, and volume popups. I never see the decorations on the menu (using the YAMA plugin), although that may be a different type of window.
