Bug Description
ppa-purge is very useful because without it there is no easy way to back out of a ppa. When I used Gentoo portage would happily downgrade packages if the ebuilds for the current version did not exist in the active repositories. Unfortunately apt/aptitude are not this smart and will just leave newer packages alone if the ppa is disabled or removed. If it's so easy to install experimental packages from a ppa, it needs to be equally easy to undo the changes and cleanup the system.
