Bug Description
Binary package hint: xorg
My ATI Radeon HD 4870 simply shows up as "undetected fglrx" when I run the "System Test" app on Ubuntu 9.10 x64. It also fails to enable fglrx from Hardware Drivers. I have been able to get the 9.12 drivers from ATI's site properly configured on the machine, however. Oh, and the latest official 10.1 fails to work at all. :P

that's a safeguard against people installing fglrx, which doesn't work with the xserver in lucid.
