Gnometris responds very slowly

Binary package hint: gnome-games

After launching Gnometris application, none of the menu respond immediately.
The game also takes time to start and then the response is very slow.
Game feels like it has hanged. System resources remain low.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug AG, it might be helpful if you open System Monitor and take a look whether CPU / RAM usage is very high - to see whether this affects the whole system and whether it's onyl caused by gnomemetris

Hi Benedict,

The system monitor displays using hardly any resources.
When any other applications opened at the same time work and respond immediately.
I tried permutations like background and brick pattern but the result is still the same.

I am using Plain theme.
All the other settings are Default.
I am still facing the issue.
Any other applications opend at the same time work and respond properly.

From looking at the attached XsessionErrors.txt, it seems that Gnometris is using Clutter, and that something is going wrong with GLX acceleration. Please attach the following to this bug report:

1) The output of lspci -vvnn
2) The output of glxinfo (note that you will need to install the mesa-utils package for this to work).

Also tell us which video driver (and it's version) you are using, if known.

Does glxgears run reasonably well? (You will need to install the mesa-utils package for this to work).

This affects me too, also with quadrapassel. I'm using the NVIDIA display driver version 173.14.22.

When I launch from terminal, I get these errors:
