Bug Description

I have several tasks created with RTM which have been sync'd with astrid.

I "completed" some of them using the RTM offline GUI "C:\Users\Lou\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --app=http://www.rememberthemilk.com/offline". Actually I'm not sure how this 'offline' mode works, as it seems to be browsing to the site.

While these tasks got sync'd ("completed") with the RTM online, they persist in astrid.

I am using the latest version of astrid.

Not sure what "information on the state of your RememberTheMilk task list" means other than what I supplied above.

Hmm... I can only suspect that RTM is not reporting to Astrid that these
tasks were completed. Just to clarify, things work when you complete a
task normally with RTM's UI?

I think most of the time I complete tasks with the gmail gadget. I just
tried it and it seemed to work ok, meaning I created a test task, sync'd
with astrid (saw it), completed on the gmail gadget, sync'd with astrid
(task disappeared).

I don't ever use RTMs normal UI.

Am I the only one this is happening to? Seems like it'd be easy to test.

I think I know what might have happened. There were several tasks which I
had moved from inbox to personal. Maybe these were left in inbox by astrid?

I am having a similar problem with syncing Astrid and RTM. Most of my entries are located in my ToDo list and these entries were maintained mostly on the RTM website. At least once a day, I sync RTM with Astrid. The completed entries in RTM are not showing up as completed in Astrid. Any ideas to resolve this problem?

Lou, Moving tasks will probably cause Astrid some trouble. Unfortunately, moved tasks appear to Astrid as a completely new task. Sounds like overall things are working okay.

Jamie, can you describe the problem a bit more, including anything that might cause this problem to happen? Thanks.

Changed in astrid:
status: New → Incomplete

I do most of my work for my tasks on the browser - RTM's website which
includes adding tasks, setting deadlines and setting items to complete. I
use the myTouch phone to access RTM items via the Astrid program. Item that
have been completed via the RTM website are not shown as completed on
Astrid. Items that I've added and modified via the RTM website are
displayed correctly on Astrid.

I've read comments about how RTM may have made it more difficult to work
with 3rd party tools such as Astrid. Do you know if this is true?

I am also experiencing something along these lines. Tasks completed on the RTM website are often still uncompleted in Astrid, even after manually syncing. For me, this has nothing to do with the task being moved to a different list. I haven't been able to find more of a pattern, unfortunately. I primarily use RTM and only use Astrid when I am away from my computer.

Also, is there any way to completely resync from RTM? Astrid has become so out of sync that it is pretty much unusable.

To completely re-sync you could uninstall/reinstall astrid then re-sync. Not
elegant but it will get the job done.

A better solution would be to use the "clear private data" functionality in the Synchronization page.

I tried the "clear private data" functionality and my Astrid list is still out-dated. Is the recommendation to always clear private data before performing a sync?

I am having the same issues. Tasks completed on the web or shared taskts completed via my girlfriends iphone, do not get updated in Astrid. We are using multiple lists and have been moving tasks between lists as well, so I can not draw any conclusions to what the cause is. For sure this needs to be fixed!!!!
