Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

I'm able to put a CD in a drive and listen to a CD, but when I listen to my DAAP share, it downloads a list of all the music, it looks like it's playing the songs, but it doesn't make any noise.

It's an intermittent problem - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

If a stop and start the mt-daapd service on the server, I can now get one second of a song then the sound stops again but it still looks like it's playing. In addition, I can skip to the next song once or twice, then the program locks up and I need to forcibly quit it.

I've got a little more data on this - the box that I'm having problems with is a Dell Inspiron and I also have an older Toshiba - Rhythmbox works just fine off that one and also connects and plays from the DAAP share, so it must be some weird problem with hardware or a driver on the Dell.

This bug is an upstream one and it would be quite helpful if somebody experiencing it could send the bug the to the people writing the software. You can learn more about how to do this for various upstreams at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME Thanks in advance!

I went back to get more data and report it to the upstream guys, but it now works, so this one can be marked closed or invalid
