Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

First of all installer crashed while installing (I didn't notice the exact moment).
I couldn't report it, your report system refused because of available updates (VERY stupid behaviour, by the way).
I installed updates and ran ubiquity again. I answered all questions and... nothing.
Ubiquity simple exits without any error (and nothing is written to the console).

Forgot to add: first crash appeared after I've updated ubiquity (there was a button on the first screen).
Now I'll try to install without this update.

У меня получилось, только если ничего не апгрейдить. Как вариант можно
загрузиться с первой альфы, а потом обновиться.

The same thing. But what about clear alpha2 without any updates? What
about clear alpha1?

It's fine with clean alpha 2 and alpha 1, but the bug needs fixing anyway

hi !
i have the same problem, i'm using the daily-live amd46 lucid desktop iso (that i am booting via grub2)
here are the last lines of my /var/log/syslog :

the time is UTC+1 (from Paris)
ask me for more informations if you need to.
the crash happens at the last window of ubiquity, when there is the summary, i click on the button to start the install, and ubiquity just closes (segfault).

This sounds like a bug in webkitgtk. Can anyone that's seeing a segfault just after progress_loop() in syslog please try with the latest daily-live CD (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live) and let me know whether or not it's working now, and thus already been fixed?

For what it's worth, I just tried an install in Russian with the 20100326 CD and it worked fine, but this bug could be hardware-specific.

Thanks!
