I cannot reproduce this on Ubuntu Karmic 9.10. I'm using an English language setting and an Australian locale. Ilmari - what are your language and locale settings?
My locale output is:
home-01:~$ locale "en_AU. UTF-8" "en_AU. UTF-8" "en_AU. UTF-8" "en_AU. UTF-8" "en_AU. UTF-8" "en_AU. UTF-8" "en_AU. UTF-8" "en_AU. UTF-8" "en_AU. UTF-8" "en_AU. UTF-8" "en_AU. UTF-8" ON="en_ AU.UTF- 8"
LANG=en_AU.UTF-8

If I launch evince from the terminal there are no errors until I select Help -> Contents (or press F1), then the following is printed in the terminal:
** (gnome-help:2619): CRITICAL **: atk_object_ set_name: assertion `name != NULL' failed

The help app still displays the help file pages normally though.
If I select "About this Document" and scroll down and select "GNOME Feedback Page" (under the Feedback heading), then I get a message box which says "Unable to load page. The requested URI "ghelp: gnome-feedback" is invalid". Nothing further is printed in the terminal though. However I think this bug has already been reported.
