Bug Description

When shifting the opacity and blur slider in the Fill and Stroke Dialog (shift + control + F)
the objects properties change incrementally not smoothly.

With 0.46 everything is fine. The sliders run very smooth.

Inkscape 0.47 r22583, built Nov 21 2009

Windows XP and Windows 7

Inkscape 0.47 now behaves differently, and the sliders no longer works step by step but adds a delay (half a second or so after the mouse stop) before catching the event. I think this is the a wanted change (improved performances when blurring on a big drawing), but I find no trace of it in the release notes and LP. Could someone confirm?

switch opacity and blur sliders to delayed update, which makes them much more resposive and easier to handle; also, remove the old workaround for gtk crash which is no more, allowing interruptibility and thus also improving responsiveness
