Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

I use standard ubuntu System/Preferences/Display tool to operate a DVI-connected monitor to my Lenovo W500 laptop. When the laptop screen is off, and the external monitor is on, the video is garbled - vertical columns of pixels are either missing, or duplicated, so that f.ex. letter "m" may look like a wide "n", and "o" like a "c". Horizontal rows are not affected, so the desktop is operation and visible, although in a very distorted way.

Xorg.log, lspci, xorg.conf etc are collected at http://karasik.eu.org/misc/intel/

This issue was reported against karmic, so can you confirm if this issue exists with the most recent Lucid Lynx 10.04 Alpha release? ISO CD images are available at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid/ . Thanks in advance.

Download full text (3.5 KiB)

Yes, I can confirm that the issue does NOT exist in installation
I've downloaded from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid/alpha-2/lucid-desktop-i386.iso
