Bug Description

On LTS 6.06 all trivial SDL graphics are extremely CPU intensive.

PowerPC LTS 6.06 Mac Mini SDL is barely usable due to its poor performance.

Could you please post your hardware speicifications? Have you tried newer versions of Ubuntu by far? (6.10 or Feisty)

I confirm this :

All my games using SDL cause 100% CPU (AthlonX2 3800+) instantly, this is very frustrating and could damage hardware.
I tried lots of games from very simple to more complex : defcon, falconseye, nwn, enemy territory...

My graphic card is Geforce FX5200
I'm running kubuntu feisty with nvidia-glx drivers.

Could you try launching the application from the terminal and write the error messages, if any? Or perhaps look for a log file...

Are you still getting these problems in Ubuntu Gutsy or Hardy?

Are you sure this is an SDL problem rather then an OpenGL problem? The list of games leads me to believe it is the latter rather then the former.. Do any games that you know for sure that don't run SDL run fine for you?
