Bug Description

Just tried gm-notify on a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10 (this is on an 64 system - if that makes a difference).

Nothing appeared so rebooted and then configured it and saw the gmail info in the notifier.

However gm-notify and the notifier applet were using 100% cpu each (the joys of dual core!).

So logged out and back in. Still had 100% cpu so uninstalled gm-notify and once more logged out and in.

Now the notifier applet has vanished from the notification area and I can't find a way to restore it.

However I can have a notifier applet in the panel next to it.

So two questions. Can I install it without 100% cpu usage? Can I get the notifier back into the notification area?

Thanks

Lee

Try to uninsatall indicator-me:

sudo apt-get remove -y indicator-me

then logout and login again, after that the problem disappeared for me.
