Bug Description
Binary package hint: software-center
If you use a dark theme (such as the HumanLogin theme included with Ubuntu), the search box has white text on a white background.
Version 1.0.2 on Ubuntu 9.10
TEST CASE:
1. Set your system theme to a dark theme.
2. Open the Software Center
3. Type text in the search box.
4. You won't see it.
5. Select everything in the box.
6. The text is now visible.
7. install s-c from lucid-proposed
8. repeat 2,3 and verify that the text is now visible

Marking as confirmed since it effects me as well. More specifically on lucid beta 1 it seems that the search box uses the correct white on black color while it is empty, but then once you type some search terms, it switches to white text on a yellow background, which is unreadable.
