Bug Description

The http://websites www.qemu.org and http://www.nongnu.org/qemu have a lot of bugs:

Why two websites with different oudated content?

No contact address
-------------------------
It is not possible to contact the webmaster.

Outdated content
----------------------
The current relase is 0.12.0-rc2.!
- http://www.nongnu.org/qemu/index.html Jul 30, 2009 QEMU version 0.11.0-rc1 is out
- http://www.nongnu.org/qemu/download.html
- http://www.qemu.org QEMU version 0.12.0-rc1 is out
- http://www.qemu.org/download.html

Many Links are outdated or broken
--------------------------------------------
- http://www.qemu.org/links.html
For example "QEMU on Windows". Why not http://www.davereyn.co.uk/download.htm ?

For example: "Quick Start", "FAQ" and "QEMU Wiki".

No word about the end of KQEMU support next.

There are a lot of differences to
qemu --help
help in QEMU-Monitor

For example
-rtc-td-hack
-localtime
-startdate
-netdev
-mem-path
-mem-prealloc
-tdf
-nvram
-enable-nesting
-no-kvm-irqchip
-no-kvm-pit
-no-kvm-pit-reinjection
-xen-domid id
-xen-create
-xen-attach
-readconfig <file>
-writeconfig <file>
(qemu) host_net_redir
(qemu) acl_reset

The website is not part of QEMU. FWIW, www.qemu.org is the official homepage.

Why do you set this bug report to "invalid"?

This report is about www.qemu.org too. The documentation ist very outdated there.

Please fix the bugs before you set this bug report to "invalid" or "close".

This bug tracker does not cover typos, omissions, or errors on www.qemu.org.

Anthony, the maintainer of QEMU and that website, has closed this bug.

Please respect his decision, and do not open this bug again.

It is not a good way to change a bug report without any comments.

The bug is not fixed. Please keep it open until it will be fixed.

This project in launchpad is _not_ for tracking the website. The website is not stored in the qemu source tree and it does not follow the release cycle that qemu does.

If you want to file bugs about the website, open a separate project in launchpad specifically for the website and file them there.

You're being extraordinarily disruptive. Do not reopen this bug against the qemu project.

And FWIW, the website is in the process of being converted to a wiki. The documentation has already been updated on the website so not only are you filing the bug in an inappropriate place, it's also entirely invalid.

This bug is not only about the documentation on the website. The documentation in the source tree is outdated too.

You didn't told me the url of the bug tracking for the website.

The website is in a outdated version until now. Please keep this bug report open until the documentation is ok.

What is this report supposed to tell me in the context of the QEMU software? I believe this entry borders on mobbing the maintainer, and looks suspiciously like a plug for the book co-authored by the OP. As a user, it's just clutter in the search results on launchpad.
