Bug Description

Binary package hint: adobe-flashplugin

Some Adobe flash controls (play, rewind, etc..) don't work on Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit with Adobe Flash Player 10.0.42.34ubuntu0.9.10.1.

Workaround:
Grab http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplayer10/libflashplayer-10.0.32.18.linux-x86_64.so.tar.gz and extract it to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins.

Changed in adobe-flashplugin (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

this affects basically every click-triggered flash tool, including full screen buttons, related video thumbnails that show after a video ends, the entire pandora UI, etc. Everything displays just fine, but does not respond to mouse click.

incidentally, keyboard inputs (e.g. space to play/pause) work fine (for the most part).

Also worth noting: when affected controls are supposed to be enabled, mouse cursor does turn from arrow to finger on mouse-over. When control is clicked, the click animation (e.g. 3-D button depressed) occurs, so the clicks are registering at least that much.

Yet another note: occasionally (usually the first time a flash component runs after reboot) a button will work, but thereafter, neither it nor any other clickable flash ui component is responsive.

I downgraded and the problem persists. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ shows that I have 10,0,32,18 installed as does the Shockwave Flash entry in FireFox's Add-ons panel.
