Bug Description
Binary package hint: erlang
The amd64 alternate CD is currently 22MB oversize leading up to alpha 1, and erlang appears to be a principal culprit. From a report of size increases of packages on the CD between karmic final and today's lucid daily:
Changed: erlang-base 3514K
Changed: erlang-xmerl 721K
Changed: erlang-inets 446K
Changed: erlang-mnesia 431K
Changed: erlang-ssl 365K
Changed: erlang-public-key 233K
Changed: erlang-syntax-tools 181K
Changed: erlang-
This needs to be corrected if we are to have usable CD images for alpha 1 this week.

It's possible this size change traces back to the following Debian changelog entry:
erlang (1:13.b.1-dfsg-6) unstable; urgency=low
* Restored debug info in beam files for default build. It's better to use patches/ series, so if someone has to
more space than to ship broken modules (debugger, dialyzer). The patch
is simply commented out in debian/
strip debug info, he can simply uncomment it.
