Sorry, forgot to mention I did download and install the latest driver 3.9.10. I had 3.9.8, while running Ubuntu 9.04, I upgraded to 9.10 retaining the same driver and when attempting to scan, the scanning cuts my page in half.

Can you please run the configuration string manually (in the HP LIP Source directory) and post the output

./configure --with-hpppddir=/usr/share/ppd/HP --prefix=/usr --enable-udev-acl-rules --enable-qt4 --enable-doc-build --disable-cups-ppd-install --disable-foomatic-drv-install --disable-foomatic-ppd-install --disable-hpijs-install --enable-policykit --enable-cups-drv-install --enable-hpcups-install --enable-network-build --enable-dbus-build --enable-scan-build --enable-fax-build

Thanks,

I apologise, Naga, still new to Ubuntu and Linux in general, how do I do
that?

Thanks

This will happen, if the path of executable have space character.
Please remove any space character in path.
Ex: "/home/hp lip/hplip-3.9.10.run" => "/home/hplip/hplip-3.9.10.run"

after you remove space character, execute ./install.py file in hplip-3.9.10 directory.

Thanks for your patience!
