I am attaching a debdiff from Debian's libibverbs 1.1.3-2 to get a 1.1.3-2ubuntu1 suitable for Lucid. I'm not including a 1.1.2-1ubuntu2 -> 1.1.3-2ubuntu1 diff because the upstream changes are huge (due to new versions of autotools creating different generated files) -- however I can provide it if desired.

(I deleted the first diff, so the one attached should be good)

Hi Roland,

And thanks to work on this merge!

Looking at your debdiff, I don't see the change you mentions ("Add udev rules for /dev/infiniband/uverbs*"). In previous versions of Ubuntu, it has been done in debian/libibverbs1.udev. This file does not appear in your debdiff.

Also, I miss a Breaks: udev (<< 136-1). As lucid will be a LTS release, we have to support migration from Hardy, so I think it should be kept.

Thanks,
Fabrice

In the latest version of libibverbs, I dropped the udev rules (and
mentioned that as "Drop udev rules, since Ubuntu makes
/dev/infiniband/uverbsX files mode 0666." in the changelog). The
rules are no longer necessary because Ubuntu does not use group rdma
for permissions to those device files. So we can completely drop the
udev rules file.

Since libibverbs no longer has any udev rules included, there is no
dependency on udev version. On update from Hardy, the relevant device
files will get permission 0666 from the rules in the main udev package.

The way you put it in the changelog let me thought that it was remaining changes.
So the changelog should be updated to say that there are no remaining changes from previous Ubuntu version.

I'll take care of that.

This bug was fixed in the package libibverbs - 1.1.3-2ubuntu1

---------------
libibverbs (1.1.3-2ubuntu1) lucid; urgency=low

  * Merge from debian testing (LP: #487430). No remaining changes:
    - Drop udev rules, since Ubuntu makes /dev/infiniband/uverbsX
      files mode 0666.
  * debian/libibverbs1.postinst: Remove creation of rdma group (since udev rules
that use it no longer apply).
