Bug Description
Binary package hint: samba
I am running Kubuntu 9.10, all packages up to date.
The version of the samba package and related packages is 3.4.0-3ubuntu5.1
My problem is that when I copy large files from my university network to my laptop (using e.g. dolphin), the copying stops and I get an error that the file could not be read. The file is still available then. The KDE file copying service has no resume functionality when I try to copy it again, so this is very frustrating.
When I use smbget -r to download a file, it stops downloading too after a while, but I can resume it using this tool.
The error smbget returns is "Can't read 64000 bytes at offset XXXXXXXXX" (XXXXXXXXX being some large number depending how much of the file is downloaded already).
I did not try to copy files to the university network. I connect to that network using openvpn.
Hi,
Can you attach your /etc/samba/smb.conf and the output of
smbget -r -d 10
Thanks
chuck
