Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. There should not be a "report a problem" menu item in your system tools menu. Do you know how it got there? Thanks in advance.

I suppose it was enabled with the alacarte menu editor. However, the
.desktop file just provides a MIME type link, not an actual
application. Don't enable it.

Hi Martin,

I don't know now how this got into my menu tree. I suspect I found
found it as an option in alacarte and activated it at some time.
There is the possibility I found apport as an app I could install but
if this is the case I dont remember doing so.

In all, I don't think my answer on this occasion will help you much.

best wishes, Steve.

It is in the Main Menu editor and I do NOT have it enabled.

But if it is not to be used, it should NOT be in the Main Menu edit tree.

Right, that's what the master bug is about.
