Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-radeon

On a Dell Precision 360, the system often crash and freeze unexpectedly when using the r300 driver. It never happens with the vesa driver or when using the
console.

Xorg can hang (only the mouse moves) with 0% or 100% CPU usage. This happens randomly in an unreproducable way, except
it rarely hangs when no-one uses the computer (lock/race issue ?)
Usually, the system is accessible remotely with ssh or by using a rs232 serial console, and the sysrq key works.
but in some cases, the system is completely stuck, especially when trying to restart X after the freeze.

what i have tried :
- Changing the graphic card
- RAM has been tested for 7 hours
- Tried another computer (had another two of those)
- noacpi/nolapic/bios_memory_check
- enabling/disabling Compiz doesn't change anything.

attached is the output of lspci, dmesg while the crash is occuring (the freeing invalid memtype error is always displayed at boot) an Xorg.0.log, a debugging session when X is stuck (with lots of symbols resolved), and a crashdump triggered by sysrq
(if the whole system can hang, maybe the kernel plays a role in this)
