I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. In order to help better determine what the problem might be, can you answer the following questions:

1) Are you using NetworkManager?
2) Are you behind a proxy server?
3) Can you report back what the following steps report?
    Quit the Ubuntu One client
    Applications->Accessories->Terminal, then run:
    ubuntuone-client-applet

Changed in ubuntuone-client (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete

3) If CouchDB is already started, nothing at all, even if I use the applet to disconnect/connect. If CouchDB is not started, the initialization log

I have two machines and I am experiencing different behaviours: UbuntuOne works fine on a Ubuntu 9.10 i386 Desktop, while it never connects on a Ubuntu 9.10 AMD64 Notebook.

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. Fortunately, I think there is a workaround for this problem as I believe it's related to bug 455544 which occurs when the bandwidth preferences are set too low (or to the defaults). If you delete ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf and restart the Ubuntu One client, you should be able to connect. Thank you, Joshua

Giamma,

If you are receiving the same errors as the original reporter, then you need to delete the config file noted in the comment above and also make sure you're not trying to run the client as root (sudo).

Thank you,

Joshua

Hi,

My issue is now resolved by deleting and recreating the registered host information on the Ubuntu One website, this problem appeared after I did a clean reinstall of Ubuntu 9.10 using the same hostname, deleting the registered host information on the website fixed the issue. Before I had tried what you suggested but it didn't work in my case.

Thanks,
Wayne
