Bug Description
Since I upgraded to karmic, kaffeine (1.0~pre2-0ubuntu1, amd64) doesn't play any media files anymore. I first noticed that (after successfully rescanning dvb-t channels) I couldn't watch dvb-t anymore: I got the message "no suitable device found" (maybe related to bug 448811?). Then I tried playing some media-files (mpeg, avi, etc.) on my harddisk - and nothing happened. kaffeine behaved as if I had not loaded anything, i.e. blank video-window, no sound. Finally I tried a DVD and got the same behaviour: nothing happened.
I should note that everything, i.e. dvb-t, dvd and files, work fine with gxine, vlc, totem.

kaffeine 1.0 uses phonon for playback. Please check that the xine backend for phonon is installed and the required xine plugins are available (libxine1- all-plugins package in ubuntu)
