Sorry i'm french
no sound on my hp hdx9050ef except whith my headphone. i try with the live cd ubuntu 8.04 the sound is ok. i try the solution of which are suggest on bug #407790 and of course this Bug #406095 but nothing change

I don't know if this will solve your problem, but could you check and see if the slmodemd daemon is running? If it is, try shutting it off and seeing if sound comes back. Also, as always, please double-check the devices in your mixer to see if they are set to "mute" or not. Sometimes, they do get reset unexpectedly.
