I expected to open automatically the torrent because I checked the box "Automatically do this from now on" in the window that suggest me what to do with files.

I'm not sure why this bug has been opened on ubuntu-docs but it sounds like you're referring to firefox so I'm reallocating the bug.

So,when I download a torrent a window appears that asks me whether to open
or save the file.I choose to open it with bittorrent and I want such files
to be opened always with this programme so I check the box "Do this
automatically from now on",but there is no difference-I have to open the
torrent files manually. This repeats every time on my both computers.
Consequently it is some kind of malfunction. I cannot describe it in more
details. I have also Google Chrome imstalled on my PC and there is the same
problem. Obviously it is an operating system problem.

Sorry,actually it works fine in Google Chrome,so it's the Firefox's fault.

I don't know exactly,but it's the latest for Ubuntu,i.e. above 3.0
