Xephyr keyboard layout broken since Karmic upgrade

Bug Description

Since upgrading from Jaunty to Karmic Xephyr is no longer using the right keyboard layout (trivial stuff such as the arrow keys do not work) both when invoked with or without the "-kb" / "+kb" command-line option.

I can confirm that.

Especially without cursor keys it is in practice unusable.

I don't know, if the Problem is only in Karmic and not in previous releases, but in Karmic YES.

I can confirm that this bug is still present in Lucid amd64 and that -keybd ephyr,,xkbmodel=evdev didn't helped. BTW, the same bug affects Xnest too.

Another information, I`m from Brazil so I`m not using EUA keyboard layout.

Got it working using:

Xephyr :1 -screen 1024x768 -keybd ephyr,,,xkbmodel=evdev

Using -keybd ephyr,,,xkbmodel=evdev did work with Karmic but with Lucid it doesn't fully work. When I press arrow up I get the Save Screenshot window for example.

I have the same problem using 10.10 amd64

The following lines solves my problem:

Xephyr :1 -noreset &
sleep 1
xkbcomp :0 :1
DISPLAY=:1 ssh -X user@localhost gnome-session
