Bug Description
Sound worked perfectly in Jaunty, but after upgrade to Karmic it stopped working.
This bug does not seem to be the same as the one other are having since my sound card is showing up in lspci and snd-hda-intel (which should be correct according to the alsa-project page) is loaded but aplay still cant seem to detect it.
I am not very experienced when it comes to reporting ubuntu bugs, so if any other info is needed, please tell me.

You appear to still be using Jaunty's kernel (2.6.28) instead of
Karmic's (2.6.31). You want to use the latter if you intend to use
Karmic! Most likely the grub configuration (grub.cfg/menu.lst) was not
properly updated.
