Mouse a4tech x-750f 2500dpi usb; Motherboard ecs k5s5a with 1gb ram, athlon xp 2000+ ; Ati radeon 9550 (rv350) using xserver-xorg-video-ati driver.
Urban Terror and others games using ioquake3 engine, AssaultCube (cube engine) also with the same problem in my system.

If you have compiz/desktop effects enabled this could cause this problem.

Without compiz enabled.

All previous versions of ubuntu worked perfectly, only with the karmic have
this problem.

Exactly the same problem here... in UrT.

My mouse is an A4Tech x-755fs ... which I guess is basically the same technology. Maybe a mouse problem?

It works fine with an older (lower dpi) usb mouse. But I need the x7.

Something related to SDL or the ioquake3 engine?

using xserver-xorg-input-evdev : 1.2.1.1-1ubuntu4 fix this problem for me

I found a solution,

downgrade the package xserver-xorg-input-evdev for the jaunty version.
