Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

My wife and I both use Ubuntu One. I have a folder I share with her and she has a folder she shares with me. I set both up by creating a folder under ~/Ubuntu One/**** on each computer. Each was shared and the option to "Allow Modifications" was checked. We can see each others files on each others computers properly but we can't modify and save any files or create files in the shared folder.

ProblemType: Bug

.home.bill..config.ubuntuone.ubuntuone.client.conf:

Same here - shared files can be accessed no problem but cannot be amended (e.g. presentation file .ppt opens as read only)

Hi, sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I just tested this with a colleague, and I seem to be able to modify files shared with me in this way. Can you confirm that this issue still exists, and if so, try something on the command line for me:

If you're in the directory that is shared with you in this manner, can you try:

touch [file]

where you replace [file] with any of the files shared with you that seem to be read only. (If this succeeds it will update the modification date of the file, but nothing else.)

Changed in ubuntuone-client (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete
importance: Undecided → Medium

It is now working for me. Not sure when or how it was fixed.
