Hi mikrom,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 467385

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Sorry for the long reply.

Yes, nothing's changed here. Suspend, both on-demand, and on-timer
puts the PC into sleep mode. Only power button wakes it up (drives
would start spinning again) but mouse (usb), keyboard (ps/2) are dead.
The LCD also does not get any signal. From there only power button
5-second hold works (forced power off).

This is with all lucid updates as of 4/23/10 10PST.

apport-collect executed

I am trying the upstream kernel...

Regard,

Michal

I can verify that this problem still exists. I have tried Ubuntu 10.04.4, 12.04.1, and 12.11 with updates up to today with kernel 3.5.0-19-generic. The computer will suspend without a problem, but when resuming the power light will switch from yellow to blue, the DVD drive will blink and spin, the HDD light will come on for a few seconds, but the keyboard, mouse, and monitor are unresponsive.

I tried installing kernel 3.6.6 and then the computer will not boot past grub.

I have also tried Fedora 17 with the same results.
