Reopened a previous bug but am transfering as a new bug as may be unrelated: previous comments:

PLEASE NOTE: I ran some more tests under ndiswrapper and for some reason it said the iwlagn driver was not correctly installed. Does anyone know how I can reinstall/repair this and see if it helps?

I had posted on both threads. The problem could not be resolved but as
I seemed to be the only one affected by it the thread was closed - the
problem still persists and has been checked again in later builds
including the latest maverick

From the last post of other report:
Make sure you don't have the kill switch on the side of your machine cut on. That could be your issue..if the rfkill switch is on then wireless isn't going to work.
Can you verify ?
If rfkill switch is off then attach here these files:
/var/log/syslog
/var/log/dmesg
/var/log/kern.log
open a terminal and run
apport-collect 466164

Also note that the problem is definately not the machine or card is I
have no problems in windows using the drivers on the intel website
(drivers only install)
