Bug Description

I tested Ubuntu 9.10 Beta in Live! mode, and now I am testing Ubuntu 9.10 RC as installed using Wubi.exe on my Windows XP partition. Some bugs that I am reporting in the current round are repeated from the Beta round for reasons I can well understand. :-(

My problem is that there isn't an option in the bug listing provided by bugs.launchpad.net to list all of the bugs that I have reported so that I can add a report that what I reported in Beta still exists in RC, etc. Also nice would be the ability to report that a given problem has apparently been resolved to my satisfaction.

This is not a bug report about the Ubuntu the linux distribution but
rather one about Launchpad. However, the answer to your problem can be
found at https://bugs.launchpad.net/people/+me/+reportedbugs.

my response:

I have bookmarked https://bugs.launchpad.net/people/+me/+reportedbugs in Firefox in the production partition (Ubuntu 9.04) of my one and only machine. However this solution does not appear (as far as I can see) in the various options presented (even the advanced options). I expect to simply 'upgrade' from Ubuntu 9.04 to the production version of 9.10 and thus should be able to preserve this bookmark for bugs that survive the final release.

However because I have a short memory (as well as other 'senior moments') I am sure to forget about this option five months hence when I start reporting bugs (and other disturbing things) in Ubuntu 10.04. Note also that I have/will participate at three points: Beta (Live!), RC (Wubi.exe), Final Release (Wubi.exe?), and am thus likely to report each bug two or three times. Also note that i am likely to enter this Web Page from the Systems Testing Utility as well as the 'report a problem' option in the Help menu of the offending software so as to provide as much technical information as the system offers. Thus I think that it is important to CLEARLY offer this option to me just as soon as I enter the bugs.launchpad website. Otherwise in my frustration, I am likely to generate duplicate bugs!

It is also LIKELY that when I am reporting a problem with software, it may be wise to offer me the option of reporting it to Launchpad as a 'Blueprint' or an 'Answer'. Although if my frustration is high enough, I reserve the right to report as a 'Bug' anyway in defiance of the rules on the basis that many other users will be equally frustrated!

New comment:

I ran into precisely this problem when responding to a request from Bug 469378, Launchpad forced me to initiate a new bug #469785 because this entry into Launchpad assumes that the user is not aware of similiar/identical bugs reported, and the analysis of the title just didn't do the job. Note that I deliberately gave Bug #469785 the precise same title as #469378, but strangely enough, that didn't flush out #469378 so that I could simply append the new stuff to it!
