Bug Description

Binary package hint: beneath-a-steel-sky

There is a blank field for the icon when accessing the game from Applications>Games under GNOME. There should be an icon of sorts for it. Where would one submit such an icon?

I came up with something. Might not work at small sizes, but it's something.

Created an SVG version of the same logo as Chauncellor used - created from scratch, so no worry about copyright infringement.
Packager can decide the license, if not it's GPL 2.

Hi, Christian. It's been a long time. I don't know my way around debian's mailing lists/packaging circles so I don't know how to properly forward this upstream. I should have jumped on this as soon as you created the excellent icon but for some reason I failed to do so.

Do you know an appropriate mailing list in which I could submit your svg? Thanks

I see that beneath-a-steel-sky 0.0372-4 in Ubuntu Quantal still has a blank default icon.

In order to forward the patch to Debian please take a look at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?repeatmerged=no&src=beneath-a-steel-sky. The best way would probably be to file a new bug report and attach the patch. Since the Debian Games team is listed as maintainers of this package I believe that should notify them automatically.

Thanks for reporting this issue and for the excellent svg icon. I will include it in the Debian package under the same BSD-like license as the game itself. The new revision should migrate automatically to Ubuntu in a few months.

This bug was fixed in the package beneath-a-steel-sky - 0.0372-5

---------------
beneath-a-steel-sky (0.0372-5) unstable; urgency=low

  * Team upload.
  * Really switch to package format 3.0 (quilt) and rename the format directory
    to source. Include the skycpt directory in a separate source tarball
    instead of using the old source format 1.0 (diff).
  * debian/control:
    - Add homepage field.
    - Update compatibility level to 9 and require debhelper >= 9.
    - Update Standards-Version to 3.9.4, no changes necessary.
    - Change short description and emphasize that BASS is a point and click
      game. This also fixes lintian warning "description synopsis starts with
      article".
  * beneath-a-steel-sky.desktop: Remove deprecated UTF-8 Encoding key. Thanks
    Pino Toscano for the patch. (Closes: #638997)
  * beneath-a-steel-sky.desktop: Add comment in German and keywords.
  * Rename beneath-a-steel-sky.lintian to beneath-a-steel-sky.lintian-overrides
    and override desktop-command-not-in-package and menu-command-not-in-package
    because BASS is a content package launched by ScummVM.
  * Add longtitle and icon to beneath-a-steel-sky.menu.
  * Update debian/copyright to copyright format 1.0.
  * Add new hicolor and xpm icon. Thanks to Christian Dannie Storgaard.
    (LP: #465264)
  * debian/rules:
    - Fix lintian warning: debian-rules-missing-recommended-target by using dh
      sequencer to simplify the rules file.
  * Add de.po file and translate the sky commands into German.
  * Add German manpage.
