Initially not all items are displayed in the menu (an example would be opera), it should be displayed in internet->more and even stranger after opening menu several times the whole category (internet->more) just disappears! (some other items also disappear but this is just an example)

(for trying to reproduce I am using this version of opera: http://snapshot.opera.com/unix/snapshot-4268/ though I do not think the version matters and other apps are missing or disappearing as well)

I am using mandriva 2009.1 version 4.6.0 with some patches from 4.6.1

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. Since you reported this against a development version of Xubuntu Karmic, Xubuntu 9.10 has had many changes since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. Could you verify if this does still exist?

If this issue still happens, are you using compiz?

This also effects me. Other menu is there when first logged in, but then will randomly disappear at some later point.

I am not using compiz, I am using xcompmgr however.

I am still experiencing this annoying bug in 64-bit Lucid.

My workaround is to remove the XFCE menu button from the panel and then add it back again to restore the Other sub-menu.

I am not using compiz.
