pidgin plugin cant open chat window

gnome-do's pidgin plug can't open chat window,onley "copy" ,online friend have "chat" but is second option why? the old version is not the case

I think I have the same problem here with GNOME-Do 0.8.2 on Karmic.
When I type a friends name in GNOME-Do it presents me with the option to copy the name of this contact. I can push the right arrow to select the "second" option, which is the "icq handle (online)". However this option is also not opening the chat with this buddy.
This problem occurs to hidden/offline buddies as well as to buddies who are online and to msn- and skype-buddies.

I am experiencing the same problem in GNOME-Do 0.8.5 for Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS (precise).
It can retrieve buddy names and even their statuses (Online, Offline) but cannot open chat window.
All I can do is "Copy to Clipboard".

A previous version on Ubuntu 10.04 worked fine. It was probably: gnome-do (0.8.3.1+dfsg-1ubuntu1) lucid;

Same with Do 0.95.3 and Pidgin plugin 2.1 - cannot open chat window.
This bug seems to sit here for a while.
Is there any chance to fix it ? Start char feature was very useful.
