suspends automatically when unplugged from AC power

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
I have a brand new Acer aspire one D250-1148. Power management works well in WinXP. But on ubuntu NR 9.10 it automatically suspends when AC is unplugged. when I try to power on it goes back to suspend automatically....
Please advise.

add: suspend also happens automatically when plugging AC. this bug is
really annoying.
