Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-all

If any non-modifier key is held down, the mouse stops responding for a second or two. For example, if I want to hold down W while moving the mouse, the mouse will not respond until I release the key. This is the case for all keys except for Ctrl, Alt, Super, and Caps Lock.
I do not have this issue on Intrepid.

I've tried plugging the keyboard and mouse into different USB ports to no avail.

I also noticed that while filling forms in Firefox, when the suggestions menus pop up, the mouse also has the same behaviour of stopping for a second.

Bryce, why was the package changed to -ati? It seems like an input problem.

Ok, this happens only while using the touch pad.
This laptop is a Thinkpad T61p, it has a touchpad and on of those red points, and I have a USB keyboard and mouse connected through the docking station.

Everything works fine exept the touchpad.

even if it is docked or undocked the touchpad loses control for a second everytime that i press any key in my laptop keyboard or in the external USB keyboard.

I read that now this device is handled by hal. Could this be the problem in karmic?

OOOOOOOK. I feel like an idiot. (whhhhoooooo)

System -> Preferences -> Mouse -> Touchpad...

There, I unchecked "Disable touchpad while typing" and all my "problems went away", Also, my wildest dearms became true.

IT IS A FEATURE NOT A BUG!

Thanks guys!
