Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

When I click connect on the applet or ubuntu one folder it just says connecting then it disconnects. Nothing else. Am running ubuntu 9.10 karmic beta. The only time it seemed to work was when I set it up and it allowed me to add the computer. Non of my files have ever been synced.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. Based on the errors in the attached log file, I think it may be related to DNS issues. Can you try running the following in a terminal session and let me know what the result is? host one.ubuntu.com

Thank you,

Joshua

Hi, Based on the provided debug information, it's very difficult to say what the cause of the problem might be. It's possible the problems you've been seeing are related to some server issues we've been experiencing and are currently in the process of addressing. If possible, can you try restarting the client and see if it connects now? Thank you, Joshua

Thanx Joshua for the reply. But for some reason my computer crashed after
a power cut. Will just wait for the final release of Karmic next week.

Thanx

Never

I think there is a workaround for this problem as I believe it's related to bug 455544 which occurs when the bandwidth preferences are set to the defaults. If you delete ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf and restart the Ubuntu One client, you should be able to connect.

Hi,

My issue is now resolved by deleting and recreating the registered host information on the Ubuntu One website, this problem appeared after I did a clean reinstall of Ubuntu 9.10 using the same hostname, deleting the registered host information on the website fixed the issue. Before I had tried what you suggested but it didn't work in my case.

Thanks,
Wayne
