Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

Following installing regular updates (18.10.2009) from update manager and after the ubuntu splash screen completes loading the laptop experiences display corruption as per attached photos.

Well, next I'd like to forward this issue upstream, but first it must be retested on latest version of Karmic to make sure the issue still happens there with the latest code. ISO images are available via http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/. If you can reproduce it in the LiveCD environment, you shouldn't need to modify your installed system. Also please attach a fresh Xorg.0.log and dmesg from this testing.

Actually, I'm fairly certain this is solved in Karmic. Still, please re-test and open a new bug using 'ubuntu-bug xorg' if the issue still exists there.

Bug sorted!

The kernel update prior to the Karmic upgrade sorted out the graphic
corruption issue I was experiencing.

A big thanks to Bryce and Alan for helping me out with it.
